Where do I begin?
Important stuff first: Madison and Lucy arrived safely. Apparently, Madison talked the entire way. I believe that.
On Monday, she had her first flight and took her first taxi. She's got her own Metro Card and manages the subway like a pro. She thinks it could go faster.
Our first stop was the Empire State Building. Standing 86 floors over Manhattan is impressive, but I'm still scared of heights and I couldn't get down fast enough.
She wanted spaghetti for dinner, and off we went to Bar Pitti, a great Italian restaurant in my neighborhood. Madison thinks Lucy's spaghetti is better.
For dessert, we went for frozen yogurt at 16 Handles. We walked in and Madison said "OH MY GOSH. This place is cool!!! I could work here!!!!" She dropped two cups and spilt one sample and then promptly selected Birthday Cake yogurt and refused any of the other 15 flavors. She added sprinkles and ate it all. It really did taste like a big piece of cake.
And at this point, I would just like to thank Apple for the iPad. Seriously, take a moment of silence.
Because when we got home, she turned it on, put on her headphones and I never heard another word from her.
Today, she's requested Statue of Liberty and Central Park. Stay tuned.
