Here we are - the sunset of 2011. What a year.
The most commonly asked question of the year - "Are you traveling the world?"
Each time, I've happily replied "NO!"
It wasn't a popular choice at work, but it was the best choice for me. Don't get me wrong - seeing the world has been more than I ever expected, but I needed time to enjoy the world around me here.
I got what I wanted.
Now I realize that a few of you started reading this blog to see where I was in the world. Thank you for staying around this year. I probably posted too many pictures of my walks through Washington Square Park and the West Village, random thoughts that passed through my head early in the morning, or pictures of food I was eating at the moment. But that's where I was - in the moment.
All of this meant I got to share meals, laugh the laughs, and spend time with those I care most about. From New York to Texas and beyond. I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world. (Now, I may change my mind when I my elite status on American Airlines is downgraded!! ;-))
Here's to you. Here's to us. Here's to 2012.
