Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

S.P.F.

I spent more than a few summers on Uncle Clint's cotton farm in Petersburg. I learned a lot, and one of those was timing. More specifically, the timing of the weather.

There are times it needs to rain. And there are times it doesn't.

One particularly dry summer, there was a public "Prayer for Rain" at the football stadium. Aunt Dottie, always cute and clever, took her umbrella. It rained.

Fast forward almost 30 years. I'm in NYC this morning checking the weekend weather.

There are times it needs to rain. And there are times it doesn't.

This weekend is one of them.

What can I do?

I got out my sunscreen this morning. If I had access to a football stadium, I'd invite all of my friends for a good ole fashioned S.P.F. session.

"Sunscreen. Please. Friday."

And Saturday.

Sunday.

And Monday.

Come on weather, cooperate.

East!
