It's Tuesday morning. I'm in East Hampton, and I'm almost finished with my second cup of coffee. It's been almost a week since I last stopped here to write. It wasn't that I didn't think about writing. I just opted to enjoy the moment.
I drove out Thursday morning with my co-pilot and little pal Simon. The rain didn't dampen our spirits. We ran some errands. We grilled. We watched some TV and called it a night.
Simon and I hit the beach super early on Friday morning. I made chocolate chip cookies, lounged at the pool, and by the end of the day, the house filled. We SoulCycled early Saturday morning, went paddle boarding and kayaking in the afternoon, made ice cream, and napped until the early evening. We closed out the day with good laughter with friends in Bridgehampton.
Traffic on Highway 27 is a constant topic of conversation here, and finding a backroad to your destination becomes a little bit of an obsession. On Sunday, Damion found the ultimate backroad to SoulCycle. Literally, dirt roads, and people on horseback. Google Maps is amazing. We clicked into those bikes, spent the afternoon on the beach, made homemade ice cream, had a late dinner, and honestly, we got lost somewhere between the Springs and East Hampton. It was bound to happen at some point. Our phones were dead, and we needed Google.
On Monday, we SoulCycled. Christine brought over good food from Round Swamp Farm. We ate. We swam. We lived the good life, ice cream sandwiches included.
By now it's Tuesday afternoon. I'm midway through my sixth day here. Time doesn't matter. I've just had lunch, and it's the perfect time to sit by the pool.
More later.
