Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Double Marathon

After being away for four weeks, I had a lot of ground to cover this weekend. A marathon of sorts.

Friday night - dinner at the Pratt's. Eliot, Anika, Marc, Drew, Dolly, Avery, Rowan and Evie. Love them! And the food was good, too.

Saturday - general housekeeping day. It seemed like I spent the afternoon with Nancy, my lady friend at the dry cleaners. I needed some tailoring done, and she pinned me up. We listened to some story about Sitting Bull on the radio. She practiced her English with me, and I wondered just how much all of this was going to  cost. She told me. Then I had a heart attack. At least my clothes will fit well. Dinner with Brenda with all of the young and pretties in East Village.

Sunday - the real deal. The big one. The New York City Marathon. Three friends ran. And four of us didn't. It was damn cold on the sidelines in Brooklyn, and for a brief moment I wished I was out there. And then I didn't. We have deferred the last two years, so as we way "Next Year!" Maybe. Maybe not.

From Brooklyn, I jumped on the subway and headed to Queens to have brunch with Traci. She just moved there, and we had fun exploring the 'hood. We stopped into the local theatre and saw Conviction.  Bad. Bad. Bad. It felt more like 127 Hours, that other new film about the guy who was trapped and had to cut off his arm to get out. I thought about it. Wait until Conviction comes on Lifetime or just don't even bother. Guess what? The guy got out of jail. And I fell asleep on the subway going home to Manhattan.

They say there's a little ice out on Long Island this morning, and I swear I'm seeing a few flakes outside my window right now.  It's cold, and it is windy. And I hope that means the work week blows right on by...blow baby blow.
