Why does Monday morning come around so quickly?
I left home Sunday at 10 a.m. and returned about 12 hours later. Full day. Fun day. Soul Cycle then eggs followed by a mishap on the subway that sent me on the express train to Chambers Street in a deserted car with one man that was asleep and one man that had a leg wound and a rank dose of rotten flesh. I learned two things: never get in an empty subway car and I need quicker jump-on/jump-off skills. Damion won and went local. Laughter followed. Tacos and a movie wrapped up the day.
This morning I saw a story on the news about these people who are stocking up for the end of the world. Some had shelters stocked with more canned goods than some NYC delis. Another had converted his swimming pool to a trout pond in order to fish for dinner. And my favorite - one ole gal had made it possible to make brownies in the backyard with solar power.
HUH?
If the world ends - and I don't think it will - who's gonna want a damn brownie? And how about you just go swim and enjoy that pool right now?
People are dumb.
