Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Good Wins!

Over the weekend, I managed to watch some ridiculous TV. It happens. But on Sunday evening, I redeemed myself. You know by now that I'm a fan of Diane Sawyer. I think she's an incredible journalist - the one to trust. And when I saw that she was airing a special on Sunday evening, I knew I should watch. If you didn't see it, ABC has posted it here

I vaguely remembered hearing the story about Jaycee Dugard, the little girl abducted walking to school. She was 11 then and was held in captivity for 18 years. She had two children. He was a sex offender and despite 60 home visits from parole officers, no one ever saw Jaycee. They never looked in the backyard in the shacks where she was held. Unbelievable. Outraging.

I can't imagine how she survived.  But she did. She said she always had hope. 18 years.

Today, she has this bright smile about her. She's articulate. And she's moving forward. When Diane asked her what wins between good and evil, Jaycee said "Good wins!"

I couldn't agree more.

And now for a note to my brothers and their wives - kiss those babies and keep an eye on them. Even when they're not babies anymore.
