Leddy, today you're four years old.
You're a sweetheart.
You've got this confidence about you that amazes me. I love it how you go and do your own thing, and you're just stubborn enough to stand your ground with anyone. Keep it that way.
You're smart, too. Last summer, you helped me plant some flowers for Lucy. You were very methodical about spacing them out, and you went into a long story about how tall you thought they would grow. I was impressed. Then, you went on to explain to me how we should build a fence. You lost me there, but someday if you're an architect or an engineer, I will not be surprised.
You love my iPhone. You mastered the Matching Game in a flash, and you danced to a little to Lady Gaga.
At Christmas, you sat there with your pile of presents and patiently waited your turn. Madison and Jake, on the other hand, did not. But, there you were with that sweet little smile. You were just as excited to see what everyone else was getting.
You like your sunglasses, your purses, your bracelets, and last night when I talked to you told me you got high heels for your birthday. I know you look cute. Keep wearing what you like.
So I know you're going to grow up a lot, but I hope a couple of things will never change.
I hope you'll always call me to talk on the phone like you do now, and I wouldn't mind it if you always put your head on my shoulder and said "love you."
Because I love you.
Uncle Josh
