First, I heard the patter of his little feet. Next, a flash of his Buzz Lightyear pajamas, and then it was his smile.
"Josh!" he said at the foot of my bed.
Thursday was officially Jake Day, and that meant buying him new boots.
After we ate breakfast, Jake said "Josh, I need to shave."
So we did. No blade of course.
Then he said "I need some cologne."
And he got some.
After a quick trip to Crazy House in Paris, it took less than five minutes for him to pick out the boots he wanted. We had lunch at Burger King, and he played and played and played some more. He finally said, "Josh, let's go buy a book."
While I was looking for the book I'm a Big Brother Now, Jake found the Toy Story 3 toys and quickly latched onto Mr. Sweet Potato.
"Josh, I need this," he said.
"Really? Do you want it or need it?" I asked him.
Jake looked down at Mr. Sweet Potato for a couple of seconds. He hugged Mr. Sweet Potato and looked back up at me with a really sad face.
"Josh, I NEED it," he said.
Done.
