As long as you give them Diet Coke and coffee, my mom and aunt travel well. They're on time. They never get tired, and they're always ready to go. To see. To do. And we did all of that today. We ate well, too.
Breakfast was at 10 with a few of my friends. We headed uptown by 11:30 and covered two Ralph Lauren mansions by 2. My aunt, who's known to have a knee problem, said "Oh, let's take the stairs. We'll see more."
That knee isn't so bad I guess.
We didn't see more. We saw the most, and it was fun.
We hit a few stores on Madison Avenue and then took a dessert break at the Pierre Hotel. We stopped for a few photo opps along the way before heading to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which was ... spectacular.
From there, we headed downtown to Matsuri for dinner. These ladies had already received marks for good behavior, but they earned highest honors for bravely eating every piece of sushi and sashimi put before them. I'm pretty sure they enjoyed it, and it was great fun. When the edamame came around, I gave a toast to Uncle Clint, who grew soy beans in Petersburg, Texas, years ago. Who knew then soy beans had such a fancy name?
Earlier in the day, my aunt said "You only come this way but once."
And friends, there you have it.
Only once. Live it up!
