Summer is my favorite time of the year. I think it will never get here, and I always hate to see it go. This weekend in New York, we had summer. Perfection! Here's a look at what I love about summer.1. The smell of water. It's that moment when I approach the Hudson River for a run, and I smell the water. The breeze hits, and I'm reminded of summers at Possum Kingdom Lake. I run a little faster, and look forward to the next visit to PK.2. Longer days.3. Spending an entire afternoon with friends and their kids. Putting money in one of those kiddie horse rides and watching them ride long after the time had expired.4. Green grass. Hot sun. The smell of dirt. Trees. Concrete.5. Sunset. Watching the sky turn from blue to almost white and then to bursts of pink, orange, and then deep blue. It's the perfect backdrop for sailboats, ferries and planes landing at Newark.6. Sweaty runs.7. The smell of sunscreen. And Hawaiian Tropics.8. Iced tea.9. Eating at an outdoor cafe. 10. The beach.
