Wow. I take back what I said about India. Clearly I had not been to Mumbai
(Bombay). It's stunningly beautiful here, and I can't wait to get out and
explore. I'm staying at the Taj Mahal Palace - another beautiful, beautiful
place. Clearly, they have me confused with another guest - there was a bottle of
champagne waiting in my room to celebrate my 10th visit to the hotel. I let
them know it was my first visit. They insisted I keep it. And oddly, there's
also a guard outside my door - I'm guessing the other Christopher Murray
must be very important.
part of her a while ago, but I have the very best memories of her. She grew
up with my grandmother, and they raised their children and grandchildren
together. And so there's a long history of the Gideons and the Horchems. I really can't tell you how funny that lady was. Her delivery was perfect.
Her humor was dry and witty and clever. And most of the time you would just
double over in laughter. I loved stopping by to visit her. Sitting at her
kitchen table was just the best. When no one else knew what to say, Virginia
did. You always felt better. When I think of Virginia, I will always think of Birch Creek. I laugh every
single time.
So it turns out this bottle of champagne is perfect - here's a toast to the
funniest lady I know. Cheers Virginia!
