Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Surprise Me

Dizzy. That explains the first hour of my morning. I forgot to set my alarm, and when I opened my eyes, I thought it was later than usual. And it was - 7:39.

Not a problem. I quickly showered, made coffee, and ate breakfast. I was out the door with an umbrella in one hand, dry cleaning in the other. I noticed that people kept looking at me as I walked up the street, and thought "What? Do these people not have dirty shirts?"

And then I looked down, and realized that I also was carrying a sack of garbage. I retraced my steps, dumped the garbage in the bin, and started again. Dizzy.

There's a lot of talk in New York, and I guess around the country, about whether a mosque should be built near ground zero. I've listened to both sides, and will say that I've had mixed emotions about what should be done. Now, I've made my decision.  In Sunday's New York Times, Thomas Friedman and Nicholas Kristoff, offered two important columns that I think everyone should read.

I say we need to learn something. We need to be surprised. Build it.

Forecast: Feisty

Happy Friday
