It was a great weekend in New York City. The skies were sunny. I saw my three favorite Texans, and I had a moment to just to exhale. It was nice.
Last night, it was fun to watch the Oscars. I enjoyed how they paid tribute to the Best Actor/Actress categories - and I'm glad Sandra Bullock won for The Blind Side.
I watched that film on the flight home the other day, and I was struck by the character.
There on the screen I saw two Southern ladies in my life. Physically, she looked like my late friend Amy. They dressed the same, and Amy was always on a mission like that character. But that character's tenacity was something I saw everyday at home. In many ways, that was my mom on screen.
Their devotion and sheer will deserve an Oscar each and every day.
