Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

No Fireworks

Friday, July 4, 2008 -- No 4th of July holiday in Singapore today! First day in the office. I have six weeks to complete a three-year marketing plan for our campus in Singapore.

But first things first: Training for the marathon. Day one of training was July 1. I missed one day while I was in the air. But lucky for me, I woke up around 3:30 a.m. Time to catch up. I realized about an hour later than I wasn’t going back to sleep, so I laced up my running shoes for a 4-mile run along the canal. Lots of people already were out for their morning exercise. It’s fun to see the older adults using the exercise playground made especially for them.

Work went well. The campus looks amazing. So much has changed since October.

Jet lag hit at 3 p.m. I pushed through a few more hours, and then I met up with Claudine, who produced our opening event in October. We went for an early dinner, and then we went to Coldstorage, the grocery store. Lots of familiar brands. If anyone is interested in the import business, I suggest importing Yoplait yogurt. In New York I pay 99 cents for a single serve portion. Here, it’s $3.85. I didn’t buy any.

I crashed at 9 p.m.
