July 14 -- Back in Singapore now.
Sunday morning I went to the grocery store. Just about everything that's available in an American grocery store is available here. The only real problem I have is ordering from the deli. If you wanted to order a pound of sliced turkey, how many grams would you order? I decided it was easier just to order five pieces and move on.
Later, I went to Sentosa Beach in the southern part of Singapore. It was fun. The best part was hearing the local Singlish. It's common to hear people use "la" in just about any combination of words.
"No, la"
"Yes, la"
"La!"
I know this is only funny to me. But it made me laugh many times today.
