I'm not referring to the movie. I haven't seen it yet. But early this morning as the coffee brewed and the rain fell in New York, I didn't turn on the TV or get the newspaper. I opened F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. I was about halfway through and before I knew it, I had finished the book. There's something great about enjoying every page, and when you get to the last one, it's the best.
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter --- to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther....And one fine morning ------
"So we beat on, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
I only have one question: Mrs. Falls, why didn't we read this in high school?
So good.
Go Green. Go Faster. Go Farther.
