NEW YORK (Sunday, August 24) -- I've been back now just over a week and I'm still encountering things I love about living in New York. Here's the shortlist:* My tiny apartment. As small as it is, it's very comfortable to me. I've brought in every single item -- one-by-one -- every book, every photo, rock, magazine. I missed them all.* The West Village. Walking through those streets -- the best!* Running along the Hudson River. There isn't a better place to run.* Hamburgers and Diet Coke. My favorite meal.* American television. Shoot me. I don't care. I love the Today Show, Regis and Kelly and AC 360. International television program is depressing. And speaking of television, I can't wait for Gossip Girl's first show on Sep. 1.* Watching Meet the Press. I miss Tim Russert. But I was so happy to see Caroline Kennedy...what an example of living with grace. And she didn't rule out getting more involved in politics. I hope so.So, it's an exciting week ahead. The end of the Olympics, the start of the U.S. Open, and the beginning of National Democratic Convention. I'm glad to be back. I learned a lot in Singapore. About me. About work. And about appreciation. I'm going to run with that.
