Just back at the hotel from a black-tie event for the Singapore Symphony
Orchestra. I was a guest of the chairman of our board of trustees - one of
kindest and most elegant ladies in Singapore.

Seated to my left was a mother of four sons, including one set of twins. I
told her that I was amazed at that, and proudly said that my brother's are
twins. The chairman's husband, a man of few words, piped up and said "When we met
Josh at his office in New York, he told us that one summer his mother wished
that each boy would have three sons so they would know what she went
through."

He thought that was funny.

I forgot I said that, but I did. And my mother did say that. It was that
same summer she made us get out of the house and fight in the front yard. We
thought she was crazy, and she probably was...because of us.

I'm thinking of my friend Christian. He lost his brother unexpectedly, and I
just can't imagine his pain. Give your brothers a call today. Your sisters,
too. Tell them you love them.

P.S. I didn't spill anything at dinner. I dodged two wine glasses, a water
class, two plates, two knives, two forks, and a spoon.
