Welcome to my blog.

The last few days have been busy. Very long. And not all that interesting.

Today, however, I had the day off. And with the exception of two e-mails, a phone call, and an encounter in the hotel lobby, I was free to do as I pleased. And I did.

I had breakfast with Stacey and Scott. These are my I'd-fly-around-the-world-just-to-have-breakfast-with-you friends. They're great. Breakfast was great. And I'm just a little better for knowing them.

This afternoon, my buddy Eck Meng took me to a party at his friend's home. And what a home -- 14 people live there -- four generations I think. Beautiful place -- the indoor and outdoor living spaces seem to merge together. The pool is incredible. And when I made my way to the bathroom, I was pretty stunned. On my right was the Ladies room. And on my left, was a room for the Gentlemen. And guess what? They had a urinal. Yes sir. Right there in this multi-million dollar home. It was perfect.

I had dinner at a fish market with my colleague Kartini and her friend Siti - a fun evening. And would you believe the fish of the day was from Mississippi and Boston. I said "Excuse me, Mississippi as in the United States?"

"Yes," he replied.

"You mean to tell me that I'm in Southeast Asia and you want to serve me fish from Mississippi?"

"Yes sir. It's very good," he said.

Funny. When it takes 18 hours on the fastest, most direct flight flight from the U.S., I'm not sure how it's the fish of the day. It's more like the fish from two days ago with a layover in Hong Kong, Tokyo or Frankfurt. Maybe that fish gets to fly business class. I don't.

For the record, I settled on a fish from New Zealand. Yum.
