We started with breakfast in bed, and then stopped at Dylan's for all of the candy we could stand. Lunch was at Serendipity with Traci. Madison has now had the ultimate hot fudge sundae. Four of us coudn't even finish it.
Our next stop was at Bloomingdale's. And this little seven year old knew exactly what she wanted, and she found the perfect "long" dress. We also found perfect shoes. As an uncle, I was prepared to buy. I felt like I was obligated. But Lucy said no. Twice. Maybe three times. :(
Before the trip, Madison had a short list of requests. The first was to stay at The Plaza. The $800 rate kept that from happening. The second was to keep Simon. That was easy. And doggie daycare was our third stop of the day. She was the happiest little girl in Manhattan. We all took a break from the heat, and then found our way to the water park in TriBeCa. Did I mention it was the hottest day of the year?
We ordered in Chinese food, and Madison used chopsticks with success. We walked Simon late, and settled into bed earlier than usual. Madison had the giggles. "Lucy, I need some water. Lucy, I can't sleep. Lucy, I need to check on Simon. Lucy...Lucy...Lucy"
