Wednesday, July 23 -- About 7 a.m. this morning, a big thunderstorm rolled through Singapore. It was great! And 45 minutes later, it was over.
Before the storm, I ran 4 miles. This time I journeyed off my normal path to see Singapore waking up. The streets were quiet. Store lights flickered on slowly, and some people were out sweeping the sidewalks in front of their small stores. Older men were sitting outside around large tables at coffee shops laughing and smoking. Children were going to school.
